It's been a while since I wrote last time. Everything has changed just in months. Now I become a prospective civil servant and I hope I'm going to be officially a civil servant next year. Being a civil servant is totally my parents' dream. I never thought that I would pass the test last year. In the end of year it was true that I planned to resign from my last job because I felt so tired everyday. My working time at my last company starts from 09.00 AM to 06.00 PM. I should catch the train with departure time 07.05 AM so at least I should be at Bekasi station around 06.50 AM otherwise I should take the next train schedule. Usually I will arrive at Jakartakota station at 08.35 AM if I take the train on time.
Why taking a 07.05 AM train was so important to me? Because the train at that time comes from Bekasi train depot! And what does it mean? It means that the train is still empty, there are no passengers, and I have a chance to get the seat! But, it wasn't that easy to get that precious seat. Since I had unpleasant experiences several times at public passenger car, I should take the passenger car for women only which is located at the first and the last car of the train. There are 4 platforms at Bekasi station, platform 2 and platform 3 are separated by two rails. And each two platforms (platform 1 with platform 2 and platform 3 with platform 4) have one stairs only where the first car is the nearest car from the stairs.
On the contrary, at Jakartakota station the women passenger car that is near to the exit gate is the last car. I should be in the last car if I don't want to waste my time walking to the exit gate. So every day every time I've done parking my motorcycle, I run to the station, tapped in my card to the entrance gate, took the stairs, and then run as fast as I could to catch the position where the last car usually stops. But, the problem is, we the passengers never really know which the exact platform that the train will enter. Sometimes it's the platform 3, and sometimes it's the platform 2. So we used our instinct when deciding to enter the platform. It's like a gambling you know. It feels like the passengers at the platform 2 are battling with the passengers at platform 3 for empty seats.
It often happened when we entered platform 2 and already at the position where the last car usually stops, the announcer said the train would enter the platform 3. The station rules says we must take the stairs in order to move from platform 2 to platform 3. But we the passenger always disobeyed the rules cause it's a coast-to-coast. So we started to jump off from platform 2 and climb up the platform 3. The platform height is about 1 meter. And the worst part is I always wore long straight skirts when I was going to work. Can you imagine how hard it was for me to climb up the platform using that skirts? Fortunately, the women there were helping each other. They reached my hand to pull me up from the rail.
Nevertheless, we still battled for an empty seat. When the train arrived we pushed and pulled each other. At that time usually there would be someone that fell into the train and it happened to me. See? It's not an easy things to do to get that precious seats. Another problem was I don't have a maid. I arrived at home around 9 PM, if there was a class (I continue my study for a master) then I would arrive at home around 11.00 PM. Instead of taking a bath and then go to sleep, I should do the housework before that. And if there was an assignment from the class that should be finish the day after I stayed awake until 2 AM.
To be continued.. (I'm sleepy, it's 12:34 AM, thank God tomorrow is Sunday, yay!)
